A note from Sinead our fund-raising guru!:

Dear Parents,

Further to your attendance at a public meeting in relation to the new school in Greystones I am writing to ask your help with fund raising. First of all I’d like to give you a quick update on the school. Many of you may have read in the papers this week that the site is no longer available and that there is uncertainty about the school opening in September. I thought you would appreciate the latest news which is that the Department of Education contacted us today to inform us that the Blacklion site is ours and that the school will open in September. So all other rumours are now just that!

So now we need to raise some funds very quickly!! There is a core team of ladies already organising the Teddy Bear picnic for the end of July. I am looking for a group of volunteers to help organise a Beer Tasting night including auction and a Fashion Show. Some work has already been done for both events but I now need a core team of at least 6 people to organise each event. My proposal is to arrange a meeting for each event over the next week and then to take it from there. This will require no more than a commitment to attend a fortnightly meeting for 2 hours max and closer to the event a weekly meeting. All other assistance as volunteered. The meetings are as follows:

Next Thurs – june 5th – Burnaby pub 8pm – to organise the Fashion Show
Monday week – june 9th – Burnaby pub 8pm – to organise the Beer Tasting night

Please let me know if you can attend and which event you will help out with so that I can ensure both events have sufficient resource.
