Mary O’Rourke from Glenasmole near Blessington, a highly experienced spinner & weaver and sheep farmer came to visit Ciara's 6th class in March. This is part of the Wool in School project.
Mary brought in a variety of products she has made, and demonstrated how the spinning wheel works. She brought in fleece, showed the children how to card it before it is ready to be spun and some children had the opportunity to spin for themselves.
The children were really interested and asked some wonderful questions.
