Girls from 4th, 5th and 6th class attended a Camogie blitz last week, organised by Cumann na mBunscol Cill Mhantáin.
It is so wonderful to see girls, who don't play camogie on a regular basis, get stuck in and give their all. They were fantastic and there are definitely some future camogie stars there!
The blitz took place in Bray Emmets and the girls had a fabulous time.
Camogie Blitz
We all had a very good time playing camogie.
We then got on the bus and this time we felt more nervous because most of us didn't know how to play. Some people brought their own hurls and helmets and others borrowed them from the school. After a while we arrived at Bray Emmett's and saw teams such as Kilcoole, Gaile school, St Fergal's, Newtown, and New Castle, and many more. We all learnt hurling and camogie skills such as lifting, soloing, and striking!
Ciara's team won 1 and lost three.
Terry's team won one and lost three.
From fifth: Yara, Isabelle, Tabatha, Amiah, Aaliyah, Bo, Lara, Zoe, Adele, Milabelle, Willow, Hanya, Zoe, and Eliza.
From sixth: Laura, Sarah, Emma, Hazel, Zaara, Audrey, Freya, Aoibhe, Grace, Matilda, Mieke.
It was a really good experience and we enjoyed these very much!
