My name is Helen McClelland and it is my pleasure, as principal, to welcome you to our school.
Greystones Educate Together National School is dedicated to the Educate Together ethos, and we strive to uphold this ethos in all that we do.
Being an educate together school means we are:
Child-Centred
The wellbeing and needs of our pupils are at the core of everything that we do here at Greystones ETNS. We value the voice of the child in their learning and we pride ourselves in providing a supporting, motivating and caring learning environment, where each child is encouraged to reach his or her personal potential. We are a highly inclusive school community and we ensure that every pupil is treated with the upmost respect and care. We want every child who enters our school to experience kindness, happiness and a sense of achievement each day.
Equality-Based
As an Educate Together school, we ensure that all children have equal access to all aspects of education. No religious belief or world view is given emphasis over another, and we endeavour to provide an inclusive Learn Together ethical education programme, in which our pupils have the opportunity to learn about many belief systems and world views, and are encouraged to gain their own informed, personal perspectives and opinions about global issues and the world around them. You can learn more about the ethical education programmes of ‘Educate Together’ schools by clicking here
Co-Educational
At Greystones Educate Together National School, gender and identity do not dictate a child’s access to, or enjoyment of, learning, development and enjoyment of school life. From the first day in Junior Infants, our pupils are taught to welcome and respect individuality and diversity, both in themselves and in one another. The gender, identity, beliefs and values of each child, parent, guardian and staff member are respected at all times.
Democratically Run
We encourage active participation from our whole school community in school life, while positively affirming the professional role of all team members within our school. Our Board of Management, Parent’s Association and School Team collaborate and communicate with openness and positivity, with the spirit of the Educate Together ethos underpinning all initiatives, communication and planning.
Greystones Educate Together National School’s central vision and mission is to create a joyful, motivating learning environment, where each pupil is encouraged, respected and valued. In close, mutually supportive partnership with parents and guardians, we prepare our pupils for happiness and success in life through our teaching and learning, so that they can dream more, learn more and do more as well informed global citizens.
Our Vision and Mission Statement
Our mission for our school is to ensure that no child is an outsider, to celebrate differences and provide the knowledge, skills and attitudes that children need to enable them to live in a pluralist society and contribute to that society as a well informed citizen
We hope our children will: dream more, learn more and do more
