The museum cabinet is very old and shows its own traces of use over the years. It once housed stuffed birds or animals in the Natural History Museum so we are very happy to have it as part of our assemblage. We have had to do a lot of work on it to fit in your work and also to make it safe. It has been sprayed with woodworm treatment and varnished with a matt varnish. All the old glass has been removed and we have measured panels and ordered mirror and tempered glass.
We have delivered half the fish mould into Cast Bronze Foundry. They will melt and pour the bronze into our prepared moulds over the next few weeks. They are very busy as usual so we will deliver the next batch when these are finished. Many sculptures you see around Ireland have been cast here. It’s always busy with artists at different stages of work.
